VIVRE AVEC / LIVING WITH

May 10 to November 23, 2025 at the French Pavilion of the 19th International Architecture Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia, in the heart of the Giardini

French Pavilion at the XIX Venice Biennale of Architecture. Faced with climate crises, conflicts and global instability, the project questions the role of architecture: not just building, but learning to “live with”. The themes of living with the existing, living with proximity, living with nature, living with the abyss, living with vulnerability and living with intelligence, brought together in 50 international projects, illustrate how architecture can repair, adapt and cohabit with the hazards of the contemporary world.

The projects on show highlight cross-cutting themes. They rethink our relationship with territory, resources and communities. They explore regeneration, local adaptation and the symbiosis between nature, technology and architecture. Far from generic solutions, each context inspires an adapted response. They question architectural research and the use of data to design a sustainable future.

The projects are exhibited in a temporary pavilion, an architecture built around the French pavilion closed for renovation, an experiment with the surrounding nature - wood and the canal - which provides natural cooling without any energy other than that coming from the canal, passing through the undergrowth and arriving naturally via the raised duckboard floor. Site elements rented in Venice and on loan for the floor, wood panels printed in Venice that will be reused for resonance, a pavilion that uses local resources and circularity with zero waste for an architecture that rediscovers the potential of its magnificent natural environment with hospitality.
